Great Starter Guitar with warm and well balanced sound - not too bright

For the price of this guitar, it plays tremendously! I've only been playing for 7 months and was using a Triple-O body style recording king, which is decent, but the deeper body sound with the dreadnought is awesome. I was shopping around for about a month before i decided to go with Orangewood. Watched a ridiculous amount of comparison videos for guitars around this price and the Orangewood won the ears to my heart every time. I also got the accessory kit which is decent - however, the tuner is....ehhh. Guitar Tuna mobile app seems more responsive and accurate though. Overall, the Austen Guitar is a great starter guitar and would pick this over the Echo due to the price difference and similar sound output (per my research in video reviews). Next guitar in my future is looking like the Hudson live as it sounded great in other comparison videos. Anyway, I would choose this over the Yamaha FG800 and the Fender CD60...or something...if you are a beginner-intermediate player.

Not Bad, Sounds Good After Adjustments

Solid guitar, however the “in-house setup” was very questionable and had fret buzz even after multiple truss rod adjustments, along with the nut being filed at a pretty uneven level. Took it to a trusted luthier and got it properly set up with some heavier strings, and it does sound and feel like a high quality guitar with the proper adjustments. Maybe I just got a bad one out of the batch as well. I would say this is a great first guitar though.

Cut out the middle-men!!

Having played the guitar in my early twenties for a few years, I stopped, lost track of the time. Now in my early fifties, I’m inspired to pick it back up again and Orangewood Austen has been awesome, a great guitar and a fair price.. now I’m thinking of adding the Ava to my collection! Thank you Orangewood for my new guitar renaissance!

Austen Guitar

For a first guitar it’s awesome. The fact that it’s smaller than standard makes it a little easier to move around the cords.

I really love this guitar

I've been playing guitar for 3 years.
When I tried this guitar I discovered the warm and bright sound that stands out when you play it.
It has a good finish and arrived tight ready to play. It is a good option and has a good quality and price.
